Pavilion designed for the winter Olympic Games in Sochi, 2014. Competition for a “Megafon” telecommunication company.
The pavilion is a comment on the coexistence of virtual space with real space. It is shown through the image of a cloud of small cubic elements (glowing in the evening), covering the entire plot of land. These elements symbolize the presence of a huge flow of information, filling the surrounding space. The air permeates the lighted elements, getting thicker in the center area by combining into larger particles, and ultimately forming a central volume of the pavilion. The programmable backlight (Hyper-Matrix technology) creates the effect of the flow of data in the cloud. The Hyper-Matrix wall may have an additional programmable backlight for each cube that will greatly enhance the effect of this technology. The height of the cloud is about 10 meters.
